Basilique de Saint-Victor
Known as one of the oldest religious sites in France and was already in the 5th century. This church is worth a visit where and owes its name to a converted Roman Officer (Saint Victor) who, because of his conversion, was tortured to death. The church was initially destroyed by the Arabs but was expelled when the Arabs were rebuilt. The appearance of the church dates from the 14th century, but within the history of the church is still very noticeable.
Calanques
The steep limestone cliffs are located on the coast between Marseille and Cassis and are sometimes called the Massif des Calanques. These rocks are characterized by the narrow inlets and the eroded limestone mountains. These rocks are 20km long and 4km wide, they reach their climax in the Marseilleveyre (432 m) and Mont Puget (565 m). In the other wing is located the Museum d’Histoire Naturelle, where you can find exhibitions of zoology, geology and prehistory.
Parc Borely
Park of 17Ha large, designed by landscape architect Alphan. The park contains a lake, a rose garden and a botanical garden which are all free to visit. You will also find in the botanical garden a tropical conservatory that fee can be visited. The botanical garden is only on weekdays, from May to late September. Middle of the park stands the Château Borély from 1978 that originally belonged to trader Louis Borély.
Plages du Prado
